4. I also like www.positivehealthwellness.com in which there is some valuable content. Amongst these is a great infographic by Karen Reed on ‘The Best and Worst Diets of 2016′
5. Ted Begnoche has an interesting site. His wealth of information and articles has given me a number of insights in to meditation, the rise of chronic inflammation and what that means, including how to detox from sugar, and more. You can read all about him here:
6. Another useful site I like is //fitnessgoat.com/wellness/meditation-101/
This does a great job of describing the benefits and the process of meditation. I am a strong believer in finding time to become calm and still, breathing deeply – even if only for a few minutes at a time. It slows the heart rate and benefits our fast paced lives. This site goes into more detail about how to meditate especially if you think it is something you struggle with.
7. I have written in a blog before about Autism but in truth I’m not an expert. This article is excellent, written by Anna Kucirkova and it describes the different types of autism, symptoms and experience of it. Adele is a clinical Psycho-neuro-immunology (PNI) practitioner, nutrition consultant and certified Metabolic Balance coach. She has met the strict criteria required for Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) registration, as recognised by the Department of Health. CNHC is the Professional Standards body for regulation of nutrition practitioners in the UK. Through her practice Adele is focused on optimising natural health and educating people about lifestyle-related conditions, including cardiovascular disease, obesity, diabetes, cancer, and mental health problems arising from stress and anxiety. The most significant insight of Adele’s clinical practice is the fact that most individuals are presenting with complex metabolic and immunologic issues and that personalised nutrition and lifestyle advice has the ability to optimise health, changing people’s lives. She believes there are ways in which we can empower ourselves to deal with health challenges without the need for invasive surgery or prescription drugs. Adele has a keen interest in ‘brain fitness’, with a focus on improving mood, memory and motivation (the 3 M’s) to maximise performance both inside and outside the workplace. Using laboratory testing, including DNA cheek swabs, Adele can provide key insights into how the brain communicates with the rest of the body and what ‘roadblocks’ may be in the way to healthful longevity. Only then can you learn how to safely manoeuvre around these obstacles and be in full control of your own health.
Dr Irshaad Ebrahim and his team of experts
I am now an Associate of this excellent facility and refer people here when they need or when our approach to stress management isn’t enough to break life-long sleep difficulties. The sleep centre has expertise in the assessment and treatment of all types of Sleep Disorders from Breathing Related Sleep Disorders such as Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) through to patients with Insomnia, Narcolepsy and sleep related problems of Pregnancy, Psychiatric and Medical conditions. Here you can have an assessment of the issue you have and if necessary, they can send you to be monitored overnight at a nearby Hospital to provide you with an in-depth analysis of the problem first hand. Many people don’t even realise that they experience night terrors or that a simple treatment plan called ‘Sleep Hygiene’ may help them calm and return to restorative sleep.
Sleep is vital to our health and well-being. As a bare minimum we recover from fatigue and regenerate muscle tissue whilst sleeping but we also manufacture Serotonin which I talk about a lot in this site and in my book. It’s a vital brain chemical that regulates your mood and funnily enough, your sleep patterns!
